Review 12/2

For the past couple of weeks we've been talking and talking and talking about Death of a Salesman, and I am so happy that we've moved on to Hamlet! Reading Shakespearean literature is refreshing after the american plays. Willy was an ass, and so is Hamlet, but they're asses in different ways and this in itself is enjoyable, as is reading with the class. I find that I really understand the concepts better when they're being read. And the tone word exersizes are very fun. I love the candy :)

  1. Seems to me that you are really excited about Hamlet! That's great that we've moved on to something you enjoy and understand. I'm glad we moved on too, it felt like we spent forever on Death of a Salesman, but maybe that's because we really did!! I like Hamlet, but it takes me a while until I can understand everything. But once I uncover all of Shakespeare's detail included, I think it's hilarious and really enjoyable.

  2. I was really happy that we moved on to Hamlet too! Like Nicci, it takes me awhile to understand what's going on in the play (thank god for no fear Shakespeare :P ". I also understand concepts better when we read as a class, since we have class discussions and Ms. Holmes always explains what's going on. In what ways are Hamlet and Willy "asses", and how are they different? I guess I could understand why you would say that though. The tone word challenges were fun!! (even though I didn't get any candy -_-) I enjoyed hearing the different sentences everyone came up with.

  3. I was so glad to move away from American plays in general! I didn't like either of them. So far I am really enjoying Hamlet too. I liked him in the play itself but then when we watctched the movies I didn't like him! I liked the tone word challenges as well. much better than the challenges we have now!

  4. I'd like to see you guys looking through notebooks, assignments, and planners, and glancing over the Spruz calendar before you write these so that your memories are fresh and you can be thorough in covering the things we do in the textbook, the in-class assignments and activities, and so on. Also, remember that the primary aim of this assignment is to synthesize old and new material and to synthesize new material with material from other courses and the "real world.”
